Real Estate Property Listings - California

To say that real estate property listings in California have been flying off the market the last five years would be a mild understatement. Although the market has cooled off a bit, California real estate is still cooking.

Real Estate Property Listings - California

California is a unique state in that it offers a little something for everyone. From huge cities like Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco to the "winery life" in Mendocino country to the agricultural lands in the center of the state, the lifestyle options are tremendous.

If you are considering moving within California or relocating from another state, there is much to consider. Before bidding on a particular piece of real estate, you need to give careful though to the type of location you want to live in.  Climate, population and affordability are a few key issues to consider.

Obviously, the major cities in California are heavily populated and expensive to live in. San Francisco is the most expensive and crowded with home prices easily running into the millions. Los Angeles and San Diego are less crowded due to their spread out nature, but are not much cheaper to live in. Housing is, however, much more plentiful than in San Francisco proper.

As to climate, northern California is definitely the place to find the seasons. Much like the rest of the country, there are distinct season for fall, spring, summer and winter as well as a significant amount of rain. Southern California, however, doesn't really seem to have seasons. There is no significant difference between spring, summer and fall. In fact, September and early October are the best months for hitting the beach. Winters are extremely mild with maybe ten total inches of rain, which typically come in a few storms. Temperatures drop into the mid 60s, which is hardly a drop at all.

The state is an incredible place to live and real estate prices in California reflect it. Single-family homes will run you a minimum of $500,000 in any of the major cities. Move out from the cities and prices will drop significantly.  Depending on where you're willing to reside, prices can get as low as the $200,000s.

When you view the real estate property listings for California below, you'll see a wide range of prices. Each area is unique, which is reflected in the price ranges.
