For such a beautiful state, real estate in Michigan is an absolute steal even in this hot real estate market. Now is a good time to buy houses in Michigan and get in on the ground floor.
Buy Houses - Michigan
Michigan is a beautiful state, particularly if you love the outdoors. Bordering four of the Great Lakes, Michigan isn't so much a state as a giant water park. In addition to the Great Lakes, there are over a thousand smaller lakes and tributaries. With so much water, fishing, boating and other aquatic sports are plentiful. Let's look at a few of the population centers where you can buy houses.
If the college life is for you, Ann Arbor is one of the best locations to buy in the United States, much less Michigan. The University has an excellent reputation, and the students swell the population of the town to roughly 100,000. During football season, of course, you can expect the number of people to nearly double on weekends. As you can imagine, the town has a heavy college influence and you can find cafes and the like everywhere. One of the more expensive areas in Michigan, you can buy houses for $350,000 on average.
Detroit is a booming city. Don't cringe. Once a downtrodden and ridiculed city that celebrated a World Series victory by burning things, Detroit is coming back in a big way. Billions have been spent to renovate the downtown area and past critics are changing their tune. If you don't believe me, give some thought to the fact that the heavily image conscious NFL will be holding the Super Bowl in Detroit in February 2006. Do you really think the NFL would put the Super Bowl in Detroit if there hadn't been a major renovation? I think not.
You can buy houses in Detroit for roughly $280,000 on average. This price will get you a nice single-family residence in a good area. Frankly, Detroit now represents a tremendous opportunity to get in on the bottom floor before property begins appreciating in 2006.
If you're interest in buying house in Michigan, now is absolutely the time to do it. Appreciation rates in 2005 were under 5 percent, some of the lowest in the nation. That simply can't last.
