Using Legal Forms On Your Own
These days, much of the real estate transaction has been boiled down to standardized legal forms. While the courts accept these forms, it is important to understand some things about them. First and foremost, you have to read them before signing them. They may contain things you neither agreed to in the transaction nor want. Once you put your signature down, you are hooked. This brings us to another issue that can pop up for the unaware. Anything that is said is UNENFORCEABLE unless it is included in the written agreement. If I say I'll take care of the termite problem when you buy my house and give you my word, you cannot later recover from me unless my promise is apparent in the contract. Sad, but true. Don't just go nuts with forms. Try to understand what they mean. If you don't, talk to a real estate lawyer. There is far too much money involved to just wing it. Obtain legal forms here.
