Loosing the Forest for the Trees
If you are negotiating with a buyer or seller regarding a real estate transaction, it can be easy to go overboard. hen you do this, you end us losing a deal that was otherwise fine. The classic situation that arises is the negotiation over furniture or some tangible item. I’ve seen multimillion dollar homes not sell because the owner would not include bar stools in the deal per the buyers request. There was nothing remotely unique about the bar stools. I ultimately learned that the owner actually ended up throwing them out when he moved to a new home because they didn’t match the décor! Don’t fall for these traps. You are selling or buying a thing. Keep an eye firmly on the big picture, not petty items.
