As shocking as this may seem, loan professionals are not really on your side. They aren’t entirely against you either. They are simply focused on one thing – closing the loan! This is just as true for your local banker as it is for a mortgage broker. They are all in the business of making money, so don’t forget that when loan terms are discussed. As with anything in life, get them in writing if you want to be able to rely on them. Anything else is unenforceable. Mortgages are large debts, so don’t risk anything.
