Know Your Assets

Let’s be honest. Filling out a mortgage application is not the most enjoyable thing in the world. It is fairly close to doing one’s taxes. Inevitably, this means most people speed through the application as fast as possible in an effort to get it over with. While this is understandable, it can result in you being rejected for the loan. Why? Well, you fail to list key assets while in your rush. Take time to carefully think through all of your assets. Include everything you can – retirement funds, cars, heirlooms, stocks in your safety deposit box. The more assets you include, the more a lender is likely to loan you money.
