You will often hear media pundits talk about rates are up or down this week for home loans. Well, you should disregard such statements unless you are applying for a loan this month. Instead, look for overall trends. Currently, rates are still close to historical lows and are a great deal. The fact they might tick up a quarter a percent this week does not change that fact, so don't get caught up in the day to day changes.
