The first step in selling your home is to get a comparable market analysis for your home. Any real estate agent will give you one for free in the hope that they will one day become your agent. The market analysis is critical to taking the guess work out of your selling efforts. It will tell you what is for sale in the area, the prices listed, the prices sold and how many weeks the properties have been on the market. You can even go take a walk through the other homes for sale during open houses. Your goal is to get a feel for the market around you and how your home fits in from a condition and price perspective.
