FSBO Seller Characteristics Who should probably not sell their own home as a FSBO (for sale by owner) seller? People with very little experience buying and selling real estate probably shouldn't go FSBO. Nor should people in poor health. If you're always in a time crunch, you're not a good candidate. If you earn a lot more per hour in your business or profession that an agent would cost, ditto. If you have a hard time taking responsibility for yourself and the outcomes you achieve, going FSBO is probably not for you either. For virtually everyone else, it can be a great way to save money.
