 Credit Scorers vs Reporting Agencies
Credit can be a confusing subject. Many people assume the big three reporting agencies actually assign you a credit score. They do not. They just compile the data. Lenders then pay "credit scorers" to kick out a score based on your data. The best known credit scorer is Fair, Issacs, which produces a "FICO" score, one of the pillars of the lending industry.
