Buying Location is Buying the Neighborhood

When buying a home, be sure you like the neighborhood not just the home itself.  Visit the area in the afternoon after school, on the week-end during the day, and on Friday or Saturday night.  If you drive through and the activity level and the look of the place is pleasant to you, the neighborhood will probably suit you.  To be even more sure, take a walk during the times mentioned and strike up a few conversations.  You soon won't have much doubt one way or the other.
