Sellers often wonder what the average time is for homes in their neighborhood to sit on the market before selling. Well, there are a lot of factors that go into that equation as you can probably imagine. What is clear is the days of a home selling in a week or two are pretty much over unless you severely under price the market. Assuming you want a fair price, there is one way to get a feel for the average selling time. Check the comparable homes in your neighborhood over the last six months. You should be able to deduce how long it takes to sell on average.
