Absolutes Kill Potential Real Estate Deals
When you're negotiating for the purchase or sale of real estate, never (well rarely) say "no" when asked for something. Instead, say "maybe if." What do I mean by this? I'll give you an example. You're scheduled to settle on September 20th, but you think your lender could be ready much sooner. The seller asks you if you can settle by August 15th. Your reply? "Maybe. I'll check with my lender. It will cost me extra interest though. If I can get the settlement moved up, could the TV and speakers in the theatre room convey?" This approach sometimes works. You'd be suprised.
